The focus of my practice is to strengthen protections of the environment at a local, provincial, and national level while upholding human rights and honouring Indigenous rights. By working with like minded individuals, grassroots organizations, and environmental non-profits groups, I have developed advocacy skills to address a wide variety of environmental law issues and concerns.

Environmental & Natural Resources Law

Environmental law encompasses a wide range of issues, with some issues being addressed through courts, tribunals, government regulatory bodies, and law/policy reform. Some issues include:


Climate Change & Energy Law

With the impacts of climate change becoming increasingly apparent in our own backyard, I am interested in providing guidance and insight into combatting climate change, ensuring that future generations have a liveable and thriving planet to call home.

At the local level, I can provide guidance on building resilient, climate adaptive, “green” communities.

Combatting the climate crisis means we need robust laws that focus on climate change mitigation and adaptation. Law and Policy reform and holding government bodies accountable to their commitments are key elements to being climate resilient.

With regards to energy law, expanding clean, renewable energy sources is central to combatting climate change. I have expertise in reviewing nuclear and uranium mining projects before the federal regulatory body, the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, with a focus on considering environmental protection measures, safety and emergency planning, and public transparency and engagement opportunities.
